According to Section 605(a)(3) of the Fair Credit Reporting Act,
Information excluded from consumer reports. Except as authorized under subsection (b) of this section, no consumer reporting agency may make any consumer report containing any of the following items of information:

(3) Paid tax liens which, from date of payment, antedate the report by more than seven years.
Thus, the lien will show as PAID on your credit report until Jan 20, 13.
If its been paid it usually stays on 10 years.
Does it show being paid? if not and you have proof call the credit reporting agencies and dispute it, they may take it off your report if they can't find anything. or if you have proof its paid.
