You may have to apply for an secured credit card with your bank. Check with your bank first and apply and go from there. Hopefully you have a savings account with them.
If not with a secured credit card you will have to open a savings account that will remain until the terms that you agree on.
But thats a start.
See if your parents will put your name on one of their cards.
Try for a department store credit card or by something on credit at a local store to start a credit history.
Well, my first response is CONGRATULATIONS !! You are fortunate that you can not get a credit card . DON"T get one . they are bad news . if you MUST have a credit card, go for a debit card instead or a pre-paid credit card.
If all else fails and you must have some credit card to establish your credit, then I would recommend you start with smaller department store or gas credit cards.
Again, my best advise is to STAY AWAY from credit cards .. they are a snowballing trap that way too many of us get sucked into.
My accountant told me that the best way to do that is to get something on credit and pay it off on time. Rent a center or a jewelry shop, or another place where you can get credit, get something small and pay it off. Be careful though. I've seen many go down the path of plastic destruction.
If someone who trusts you gets you a card, and you use it, paying it off every month, you will soon get offers under your own name.
Get one of those and you're on your way.
I have done that for about a dozen people.
You can only do that if you have the self control NOT to go on a spending bender. Otherwise it will have the opposite effect of what you are trying to accomplish.
