Credit cards?

How do I get a credit card.. I am not going to be the one paying the bill but it still needs to be in my name.. Do I still have to apply or can the people that will be paying the bill apply for it in my name?

Answer:
If you have some agreement that you dont have to be responsible but you get a card, the best thing to do is have the other person apply and get it and add you as an authorized user-- they would then get a second card with your name on it.

Your only other option is getting it in your name and somoene else pays-- but you are legally responsible if they dont pay, and they cant always talk to the company abuot the account or payment history without you being involved.
The account needs to be opened in your name for it to show on your credit history, but if all you want is a card to use, someone can just make you an authorized user and have a card sent with your name on it.
The one that will pay the bill will apply for the credit card for you. Usually, they will get the primary card and you will get the secondary card.
