I want to pay off my credit. I want to get in contact with the agencies that I owe to set up a payment plan.?
Answer:
Never ever use a debt consolidation company, Do it yourself! You can do everything that a debt consolidation plan can do and you can do it better.
It is best if you go by way of a credit counseling service. They can usually work out a much better payment plan than you will be able to do for yourself. Look in the yellow pages under credit counseling.
Ok .. you can go to annualcreditreport.com I forgot to tell u this is 100% free and it gives you your credit report from all 3 bureaus and they also have the names of the businesses that you owe and their number so give it a try.
yow! 90% of the time those agencies will fail you. your credit companies rather work with you instead of you getting those consolidation deals.
i tried that and failed so bad and the credit companies i was with got so fed up with me about this. i just broke down and filed for bankruptcy.
it's best to talk to the companies personally, don't avoid them.. it won't help. consolidation companies in most cases i heard and dealt with and finding out talking with my lawyer.. fail.
talk with the credit companies tell them the real deal don't fake them out.. honesty will work eventually but they're all impatient about this.
it depends on how much you owe all together.
if it's over $3000 well. it's going to be real tough!
if you make very little. file for chapt. 7 or 11.
then rebuild your credit.. talk to a bankruptcy lawyer.. most are quite informative and friendly and will tell you it's not forever and you have the opportunity to rebuild your credit again.
believe me.. i filed 4 years ago.. i got credit still. i got bills still.
it's like i never filed. :D
but consolidation.. there's so much crap out there it's fruitless.. most are scams and the other half doesn't know what they're doing or the credit companies won't agree to their terms no matter what they agree to upon first notice.
sooner or later the credit companies will come to you saying.. i know you and the contract said this and we got the money but it's not enough we need the money now. talk to your friends do this get another job and you'll go.. what? oh nuts!
time for a lawyer. i did it.. my friends did it, neighbors.. it all ends up the same way.
my bankruptcy was for 30,000. it only cost me $1000 to get discharged. (through a payment plan, :D )
the addresse or at least eh phone numbers should be on your credit report. you should also make an agreement that when the debt is paid off that they will delete this item form your credit report. get this agreement in writing before you pay them any thing. its call a pay for deletion letter. Im doing this same process and my score went up 30 points in 2 months. you can also try to make a deal that you will pay the original amount owed and not the new balance. for example: i owed a company $3200 (amount after fees) original owed was $1500. debt was noted paid in full and deleted off my credit report after paying $900!
