Sign up for Visa /Mastercard credit card services at any Wholesale Club, like Costco, BJ's, or Sam's. Much cheaper than traditional banks.
Do not accept Amex., Doners club, or discover.
paypal works really good for me. my sites business tripled in the first 4 months of doing so.plus it doesnt leave you as someone who could abuse the information you have, as paypal keep teh details

Check out www.protx.com. They offer reletively cheap online transaction processing. An old company I worked for used it and it was extremely good. Has a fair amount of customisation and a range of different types of rates depending on how many transactions you process.
