How do you stop debt collector from making hard enquiries on you're credit report on a already removed debt.

The debt is over 7 years old and already removed from the credit report.

Answers:
You can't. The debt collector is most likely doing this on purpose. They know how to do soft inquiries but use this trick to let other potential lenders know that they are still trying to collect an old debt. You can complain to the credit bureau but they won't do anything about it. And why would they - they get paid everytime a report gets pulled. You could notify the collector in writing that the debt is no longer valid and that the statute of limitations has expired and threaten him with legal action for pulling your credit illegally.

Good Luck
