Do i have to pay?
I signed up last year for a football league in my area, me being me decided to be manager - so i entered all our details down like address etc but never signed for anything or ticked any boxes.
Lately I've been having a bit of trouble getting players to turn up so i at to withdraw my team from the league.
A week later I recieve an invoice through the post saying i owe £691.88 + 121.08 vat for the remaining games.
Can they do this because each match is £28 inc vat anyway but it seems like their adding vat onto this for some reason.
I really appreciate some advice on this to solve this problem because im only a 19 year old student and i havent got that sort of money to be giving out for nothing.

You really need to read the Terms & Conditions of the agreement you entered into. Agreements don't have to be written contracts, but terms & conditions should be clear & available. VAT is charged if the body charging is registered for VAT, (there should be a vat reg. no. on the invoice that you can check with Customs & Excise) otherwise it's illegal. Go back to the other contracting party & talk to them, but if you agreed to their terms, you may well be stuck with the bill.
Since it is a british thing I am not really sure but I wouldn't pay.
