PLEASE answer amount owed to a Credit Agencie?
Answers:
It's a rounding thing. I've been looking at credit reports for over 20 years and the balances are always reported in whole dollars.
When you go to payoff the debt, be sure to get a "payoff letter" in writing so you will have the exact amount owed. Retain a copy of that letter along with your cancelled check for payment as collection companies have a bad habit of not updating your report status. Should the issue ever come up in the future, you will have solid proof it was paid. And try to get a letter from the collection agency indicating receipt of your payment.
Once paid, they should report the new status to all 3 major reporting agencies.
Don't stress over the 44 cents. You'll feel much better when the debt is paid and gone.
Good luck!
They usually show exactly what you owe.
Hello, Yeh they should report it accurately but collections tend to change anyway with interest and stuff.
One thing you have going for you is this. You can dispute the trade line legally now because it is not correct.
When you dispute no need to tell them what is wrong just mark it inaccurate.
An extra $0.44!??!1?!?!!?!!...OMG, you should sue.
