Do library fines affect your credit report?
Answers:
It depends on your county library, and many have been turning delinquent library dues to collection agencies.
Understand that these libraries and counties that operate them are often short of cash -- and one way to raise cash is to go after the delinquent accounts. And when your overdue fines go to collection, then it can definitely affect your credit report

No.
Unless they are turned over to collections.
in extreme cases i imagine, anything that can be reported as a delinquincy, can be a part of a credit report too.
It's possible but not real likely. Most libraries don't report them or turn them over to collection agencies, although some do.
But at least return the books - libraries are strapped enough already for cash, and can't afford to replace books that don't get returned.
yes they do.. even for stupid balances like $42.. I guess it's a way to prevent slackers from not returning books.
