What credit card can i get with a fico score of 540-580?
Answer:
Why would you want one with that low of a credit score?
The only credit you'll get will be attached to cards with ridiculously high interest rates and fees.
You're better off taking your money and making good on the obligations you skipped that led you to such a low score in the first place.
If you do that, your score will improve and you'll qualify for credit cards with better terms.
If you can't afford credit so much that you have such a bad score, why would you want such lousy additional credit that will invariably make your credit score even worse.to the point that you'll never qualify for credit again?
with a score that low i wouldn't bother.it will only get you into more debt
There are two credit cards you can get and apply for them free onling. FirstPremier and CorTrust.
Make sure you read the agreement though because the initial limit is only $250 and they do report after the first month which will drastically raise your credit score. However it only works well if you make your $20 payments on time.
No guarantee but I had good luck with Citi Cards when I was in the high 500s. (http://www.citicards.com). Otherwise I got a Fingerhut account to help build my credit.
And if you start with a low balance - try to use it and pay it off in full each month or as often as possible. then down the line maybe 6 months or so of doing this you can ask for a credit line increase. The more credit available to you that you aren't actually using looks good on your credit.
Try capital one. I filed for Bankruptcy not to long ago and they were the first company to make it happen for me. Soon after I obtained a Providian card. My credit limit increases are slow but worth it. Dont charge them up too much and you will see the changes in your score. TO ANYONE ELSE OUT THERE. IF YOU ARE AT HOME WITH YOUR PARENTS OR IF YOU ARE A PARENT YOU CAN HELP BUILD YOUR CHILDS CREDIT SCORE BY JUST ADDING THEM TO YOUR ACCOUNT. THEY DONT HAVE TO USE THE CARD, THEY WILL PIGGY BACK OFF YOUR GOOD CREDIT. Credit is a fairly easy thing to screw up and pretty hard to reobtain. Good luck and keep those bills down.
One that offers a high variable interest rate, with an annual fee.basically a card you don't want. KNOW WHAT IS ON YOUR CREDIT. If you have not or don't know US citizens can get a copy FREE from all three reporting agencies. Go to annualcreditreport.com and select the state you are in and get report. In a matter of minutes you will be able to see and print out a copy of your credit report. You will probably get a dispute form with your printed report. So follows the directions and get the stuff you (can) have removed taken off by filling it out. Now once you have done this, go to your financial institution and take out a secured loan. Means you use your funds as collateral, basically you can not be denied. Make sure the loan is for at least a period of 12 months. The combination of removing possible items from your credit file and a secured loan will boost up that credit score. Good luck, and don't take a variable card.
HEY,i have bad credit and the first bank that gave me a credit card is (first premier bank) i been with them for like 6-8 months now and they just offered me another card.but.. becareful and read everything becuase they will give you a limit like 250.00 and throw all these fees on there and you will have a avalible credit like 79.00. and you keep on paying until its like back to 250.00 it alot to pay back but if you have to build your credit its worth it. i new about all the fees before i applyed for it but i had to do it to build my credit and now i have 2 from (first premier bank) and HSBS just gave me a credit card. with no money up front so first premier helped me with my credit score a little and im still working on it. apply with fingerhut a got one from there to small amount but it works for credit refference. good luck:)
