Answers:
Well, I can tell you this much. I'm working for my third bank now, and they didn't tell me until after the fact of me being hired and I have really bad credit. I don't know about the first two banks I worked for. Nobody ever said anything to me. If they do a credit check, they must not have high standards. Haha!
No!!
If you don't have a good or fair credit then don't bother applying because they will not hire you.
Certain bank do credit checks but they don't tell you until after you have had the interview and get your hope up because they give you the impression that have the job in the bag then they'll send you a letter in the mail informing you about your bad credit which is enabling them to hire you for a job that you know that you are well qualified for and you know that you can do very well but they wont give you a chance. If you really want to work in a bank the best choice is the small banks. Ones that ar not federal or government banks. (From experience.)
Yes and no. Any job that involves handling cash or access to customer accounts will require decent credit. That does not leave many openings in a bank. The mail room is not off limits at some banks.

ms_lovely is confused. Employers are not permitted to do a credit check without WRITTEN authorization. If you don't sign the authorization, you won't be considered, but you WILL be informed the check will be required.
No ! Or if you do, you are just great at school !
