Credit card fraud??
Answers:
Somehow someone got your credit card number, they did not know it was invalid and tried to use it. Since they also had your address it is very likely that they somehow got hold of an old statement. There have been cases where they have it shipped to your address but since they know when it is supposed to arrive they will actually come to your house and try to intercept the package before you get it. Such as if you are at work and the package is just left at the door they will take it before you get home. This makes it much harder when you try to dispute it with the company that you did not make the charge. Because they said that it was shipped to your address and you have no proof otherwise.
You can file a police report, but this would really be low priority and very likely they will never find out who did it.
But you need to do some things to make sure you don't have more problems. First you should pull your credit report for free from http://www.annualcreditreport.com... and make sure that everything on that report is yours. If anything is not yours you may have more of a problem such as Identity Theft that you will have to take care of.
You should also contact all of your credit card companies and let them know of the situation. They will cancel your card number and issue you a new one. This is a preventative move, in case they got one or more of your account numbers.
This is why you need to treat anything with personal information with extreme care. The second thing I would do after you contact the companies is to go purchase a paper shreader. Before you throw anything such as statements away shread them.
If you did not place and order and the credit cards were no longer valid, you have nothing to worry about. You have no legal responsibility for any of these orders.
There is no way we could find out who did this. The companies who took the order may not even knew how did it, unless they have a caller display and kept the caller's phone number.
It is always wise to destroy your old credit cards. Cut them up and flush them into the toilet.
Since, it has not be shipped. Then don't worry about it. If the new Credit card has the same numbers as the old credit card number. I would request the bank send you a new card with new numbers. Those person who ordered might be able to find out your new expiration date
