Did you know that the four large banks, Barclays, Natwest, Lloyds and HSBC.?
Answer:
Does that mean if i have a halifax credit card and pay my statment a few days after the deadine they will give me a bad credit record?
Shouldnt a creaditor have to advise you if they are applying to give someone a bad credit rating, if they dont i think the law should change, as someone whos done nothing wrong could be put into bad credit because of mistakes by the bank.
If your in credit and dont pay and continue not to pay i could understand this, but missing a payment because your on holiday or something seems a bit of an iffy reason to give us a bad credit rating. Whats yr links??
Is there a question in there somewhere?! I work in this industry so may be able to help clarify things if i could understand what you are asking.!
I guess the question is about credit checking in other banks. They have an understanding that if you mess up with one, they will act as a union. So be a good customer to one all will treat you nice.
Aside from the ruthlessly easy to get credit from places (see daytime TV ads claiming "bad credit? no problem!") *every* bank will hold credit records and supply them to everyone who asks. Experion is just one of many credit agencies who can tell people you ask for credit from to refuse you. Even high street stores use them for such trivial things as getting a cheap hi-fi on credit. And everytime you're refused a credit check, you're rating goes down further.
However, some credit refusals are based on where you live - if the previous occupant had bad debt, it's likely you'll be refused even if you are solvent. This is great for the credit check companies - you have to pay them about £15 to get your report, and then prove you are not the person who owes money, and clear it. Given there are many companies.this may be expensive.
So wut should one do if she/he has an account only with one of the four large banks and no others?
