There is a security freeze on my experian credit report that i didnt put on.. how can i have it removed?

when i call experian, they say that i need some personal identification number to remove the freeze that they gave me when i put the security freeze.. but i didnt put the freeze on in the first place, so i dont have any number.. my question how do i remove the freeze and who put it on in the first place.. please help?!

They must've sent you a letter regarding it. Here's the website to unfreeze it only if you have the letter.
