How do you delete things that should no longer be on your credit report from your credit report? payoffs?
Answers:
I believe you have to write to the three major credit reporting agencies. Here is a link that will take you directly to the information that tells of the three agencies and contact information.

Write a letter to the credit bureau and ask that it be removed. Include any supporting documents.
open a new file and start over , if you have collections it will be very hard to remove those thats the plain truth, start new and manage it better im sure if you got a 2nd chance u would be better than the 1st time around good luck contact me for more tips nycitychef@yahoo.com
When a default appears on your creit report, it stays there for 5 years if it is paid (or seven years if it is not - or your creditor has been unable to find you). There is no way of being able to delete the entry off your credit report early - unless you can prove that it was initially put on there in error. Other things also hurt your credit score too, including "applications for credit" everytime you apply for a loan or a credit card or a mobile phone - it shows up that you could be a "credit risk". If you're unsure... you can contact your credit bearau for more info.
The three credit agencies are:
Equifax (formally TRW): 1-800-997-2493
Experian: 1-888-397-3742
Trans union: 1-800-888-4213
