What do you think?

Put my truck on carigslist.com. Got an email from someone who left only a phone number to call. No other message. I was game (desperate) so I called. The guy's story was he wanted to find a truck for his nephew who was starting a new business. His plan was to leave the truck in my name, write up a contract between ourselves saying he would pay the monthly payment and then after 6 months, refinance the truck in his name. Does this sound like a scam to you? It does to me. What do you think?

Answers:
I wouldn't do this. You are not in the credit business. Leaving the truck in your name means you own it. If the "nephew" crashes into someone, or something, you as owner are liable. Do you really think you want to a) extend credit to these jaybirds 2) Assume all liability risk for something such as this?

You need an arms length sale to a third party. Nothing less.
it sounds like a scam to me i wouldn't do it if i were you
dn't do it.it's probably a scam biatch!
I say, don't do it! Trust your instincts & decline his offer.

Good luck selling your truck.
Yes this is a scam. Tell him when he pays for the truck in full he can pick it up and you will give him title. Craigs list is loaded with scam preditors
