American express CDMP check. Anyone who received one did you cash it? Was it paid?

I received a check from American express CDMP as a refund from a credit consoling from maybe 5 years ago. I called and really didn't get the answers I was looking for. The check looks ok, nothing special on the back but still have not cashed it. Anyone receive one and cash it?

I received a check also and called the number. Sounds like it could be legit. I also called the bank it's drawn on, but they couldn't give me an answer and told me to call american express. I was also in a credit counseling program years ago, so maybe it's true?? I'm skeptical but am going to deposit the check today. I'll let you know what happens!
I received one too, dated April 30. I too used credit counseling around 5 or so years ago, and my check is for a different amount, so it's not an automatic "send everybody the same thing" situation. I noticed that the first-class presorted mail info on the envelope says Rust Consulting, Inc. so I looked up Rust + Amer Express on Google and here is the interesting link I found: http://www.amexsux.com/
It is starting to look as if this really is the settlement of a class action suit, which would explain why they are including INTEREST. I think I am going to cash mine too. This is an amazing windfall if it's legit, like Pennies from Heaven (but more than pennies).
