Glitch or questionable credit fraud?

I received a Macy's mailer yesterday containing discount coupons to be used in conjunction with my Macy's card. Problem is that I don't own nor have ever applied for a Macy's card. This is the only incident in which something like this happened. Could this be a sign that someone used my info to apply for a Macy's charge, or could it just be a glitch in company's database and I just happened to have received the mailer by accident?

Answers:
contact macy's to be sure, but generally its a mailer that is supposed to entice you to get a macy's card, i get them from sears all the time!
I think that it's a general mailer that goes out to potential shoppers. The idea is that if you have a Macy's charge, you can save more with the coupon. If it still worries you, check your credit report and call customer service for Macy's.
I agrre with the two ladies I get thoes as well and I have never had a Macy's card
I'd check with Macy's just to be certain that there is not a charge account in your name. It could just be a tactic they are using to drum up business.they want to tempt you with the discount and hope that you will sign up for the card. If that's what it is, it may work since you will be in their store to clear up the confusion anyway. (just kidding).
Ditto - call Macy's
I would call macys to make sure someone has not used your name to obtain credit.
