I need help really really bad.?
About 2 months ago I was preapproved for a new/used truck from a reputable dealer. I took every precaution known to man to make sure it was true before I even went down to the dealer ship. I have worked very hard to rebuild my credit from past mistakes and I didn't want any funny business or anything to go wrong. So I went down to the dealer ship I had the truck I wanted all pick out and test drove signed all the papers and made my down payment. Three days later the dealership called and said they were having so problems and wanted me to come in to go over the paper work. I called them back because it was a far drive for me and asked what the problem was and was told that they were unable to get me financed. I was so mad I told them to bring me my down back and come get the truck. So now 2 months later I go to check on my credit as i due every now and then and guess what my credit score has dropped almost 100pts. Can I do anything about this?
Answers:
Contact your local Department of Motor Vehicles and tell them you have a complaint against a car dealer. You will be guided to the correct department. Tell them your story and they will assist you in the next step, which will most likely being contacting a state attorney and the consumer protection agency within your state.
This is a common tactic and it was used on me less than two years ago, except with my phone call I simply said, "Boy, you sure have a problem" and then hung up.
Can you check with the people who do your credit rating to find out why
Order your credit report from all three agencies
1. TransUnion
2. Equifax
3. Experian
Contest all negatives regardless of the reason! Wait three weeks and reapply for your loan. While you contest the negatives, they may not appear on your report thus boosting your FICO
first get a real copy of your credit report and find out who says what about you and your paying history. could be simple as your credit limit on a card or not paying a bill on time or a bunch of people checking your credit, if the car place put a mark on your credit tell them to take it off or you will sue them do it in writing return receipt requested so you have proof you did so, usually that is all it takes to get a bogus thing off your credit. last but not least google clark howard consumer advocate read his web site and email him the question
Well, you can't keep a vehicle that you didn't get financing on! I understand how frustrating it is, but you need to return the vehicle ASAP if you haven't already! Them checking your credit, lowers the score! You don't want anyone doing that very often! I admire your efforts to get a good credit rating and hope it all works out for you! Good Luck
when you get your credit report it should indicate the creditors that had bad marks on you. you contact those creditors to see what it will take to get the bad marks removed. in some cases it is a case where you have paid and they have not updated or something was mistakenly put against your credit or something you actually owe and you will have to pay to improve your credit report.
first call the credit report people and ask them what you can do. Do you have paper copies of the pre-approval. I think you got mad at the wrong people, unless the dealership is who pre-approved you. Apologizing to them and showing them the pre-approval papers may help, tell them you are very sorry. I know how you feel.
First off all dealers can claim they can get you financed...it is a marketing ploy to get people...simple...with enough money down..you can get financed..finance guy--"sure...give us 9000k down on that 12k dollar truck..we can get you done"...they always have an out. As far as your credit goes there is not much you can do if you signed off on a credit app. You can turn around and call the better business bureau just to cause the dealership some hassle.but credit score wise--you gave them permission to pull it, there job is to find a bank that will get you done.sometimes they send to 5-10 banks. That alone shouldn't drop your score 100 pts.maybe 25ish.each inquiry usually cost 2pts..there maybe other factors involved that caused the drop. Best way to get your score up is to pay bills ontime and reduce your debt to income. Also...the credit report you pull is not the same one they look at.scores are enhanced based on what you are buying..if your buying a house, applying for a credit card, and/or buying a car..each score will be different because they adjust based on who is looking at you.
I wish you luck
You can start buy calling the credits and writing them letters to explain what went wrong. The more you check your credit the lower it goes. So try and only check that once a year. Now if your planing on making a Major purchase you can check it up to 3 times in the course of the short time Span. Any thing over that and they will penalize you for it..
