Yes, but you will probably need to be on someone else's account unless you can prove an income
no and the reason why is because you cannot sign any legal documents until you are the age of 18 sry.
if you mean illegal( against the law) I dont think so
Unless you are an "emancipated minor" you would probably have to have the permission of your parents as credit cards involve implied contracts and in order for them to be legal you have to be at least 18 years old. I am not certain about the emancipated minor exception, but if you are 17 why would you need a credit card? You are better off NOT to use one unless you know how they really work and are responsible enough to handle one.
You will need an adult co-signer.
In the United States, contracts signed by minors under 18 are void or voidable. In other words, they are not enforceable by the bank. The exception is when money has been used for the "necessaries" like food, shelter, etc. If you apply for a credit card and after checking your credit report the bank issues one to you -- more power to you. There is nothing illegal about it, and the bank takes on a huge risk, but that's their problem. Under most terms and conditions, however, the bank retains the right to close your account at any time and demand payment. If you charge up the card and the bank pulls the plug, you might have a problem.
Good luck.
