Can the IRS now collect outstanding credit card debts from consumers?

Answer:
No.

They are the Internal Revenue Service.

Outstanding credit card debt is not revenue related, and is private debt, so they will have nothing to do with it.
I don't understand the question. What the IRS has to do with bad credit cards? irs only concern is to collect tax money that you owe to the federal gov. They are not a collection agency.
I am sorry if i don't understand the question
The IRS has enough trouble collecting their own debts, let alone messing with credit card debts. No they don't.
NO! Whatever gave you that idea? However, if there is a court judgement against you, a debtor can attach your IRS refund so they receive it instead of you to help pay the debt you were court ordered to pay. It happens all the time. Just pay your bills and you won't have to worry about it.
Absolutely not! What they can do is allow you to pay your income tax from your credit card.
