Kind of complicated credit question.?

Ok, I'll try to make this as simple as possible.

I make some credit card payments through MyCheckFree. I changed bank accounts and when I went to change the information through MyCheckFree two credit payments were already processing so I went to the site to pay it directly, which I did and the payments were made days before they were due.

MyCheckFree's first attempt failed because the account was closed. Then they tried a second time, which failed again because it was attempted with the closed account and once the transaction is processing there is no way to stop it. I understand that there are CC fees but:

1. Will this hurt the decent credit that my husband and I have going for us, that we have been improving on?

2. Even though the bank account was closed days earlier am I still responsible for the fees that my old bank is trying to place on me?

I didn't receive word of the first failed attempt, only the 2nd.

Hello,

As long as your payment was received by the CC Company before the due date you are good shape as far as your credit score. The CC company might hold you responsible for return check fees nut if you are good customer call them and explain what happen I would say they will waive the fee.

Next as much as I hate to say it you will have to pay the bank for the NSF fees probably for both attempts. I would not argue with them just pay it ASAP. If you make them made they could turn you into ChexSystems and that sucks. Worse yet if they report to Certegy it will show as a collection on your credit report.

Good Luck
i dont do anything online for payments. been making all my payments for over 20 years threw the united states post office mail. i have only had one hell of a month mess up with my mail becouse i was group leading. i guess someone in the group saw me drop my bills in the employee box at work and everything didnt clear as fast as it could. so i had to make double payments that month. after that i put my mail in the public drop box. never had a problem after that. next time use the post office.
This is one of the reasons I will NEVER authorize automatic payments for anything. I pay nearly all my bills on-line, but only authorize single payments.
