before companies distribute gas to us consumer, which companies are above the distributors? the ones who purchase gas from another countries for example. how can i find who are they?

Since natural gas is a variable commodity purchased on the open market and major companies have whole departments devoted to predicting supply needs and watching the daily and futures markets, you are basically asking for a simple answer to a complicated question. Where are the pipe lines and LNG ships coming from? Does the distributor have vertical integration so they are shipping to themselves? Is a consolidator combining product and selling it on the market?
