A job at Starbucks?
I was wondering, if they want to interview me, what type of questions will they ask? Im nervous because im only 16 but im smart and friendly and outgoing but do you think they'll give me a chance? I dont see too many people my age working there. And I dont have any work experance other than babysitting for about 3 years.
Also, would it be better to work in a starbucks thats in a Barns and Noble or just a regular one? We've got both in the town that I live in.

I work there and it's awesome. I've only been employed for about a month and a half. Training is overwhelming at first, but after a while it gets very easy. They pay well above minimum wage; plus we get tips. We get free drinks during our shift and a 30% discount on everything when we are not on shift. We get to take home a free pound of coffee or tea of our choice for free every week. All my co-workers are nice and dependable. I love my job very much.
As far as gaining employment there, it may be different depending on your location. I know that where I live, it is hard to get hired at Starbucks with no experience. I applied at like 3. I even followed up on each one and they never called me back. However, I waited for about 2 months after that for them to open a brand new one close to where I lived. I applied there and got hired. It is very easy to get hired at brand new stores, because well, they have several spots to fill. If you're applying at one that is already established, there may only 2 spots to fill with tons of applicants. So of course they are going to hire the person with the most experience. Try to make your application stand out and write good answers to the questions because you may be competing with other applicants. I don't know where you live, so all of what I just said might be completely different depending on where you live. I live in the Houston Texas area.
I had no experience whatsoever when I got hired at Starbucks. It was my first job ever, however, I am 18. They do hire 16 and up, but there aren't any in my store. The youngest barista at my store is 17. It may be a little harder to get hired at 16 because of scheduling. However, since it is summer, 16 year olds are out of school so you should have a good chance. Give it a try.
If you apply, ALWAYS give your application to the manager and try to speak to him. He may interview you on the spot. If you just give it to an employee, it may never make it into the hiring managers hand.
During the interview they will ask you questions like "Describe a time in school when you had to.blah blah blah." They are very random questions, so you have to be prepared to think fast while maintaining eye contact and try not to be so nervous.
Last but not least, Barnes and Noble Starbucks are just licensed stores. That means they are not actual Starbucks. They're just Barnes and Noble cafes that are licensed to sell Starbucks products. All of the people who work at Starbucks in Barnes and Noble are not employed by Starbucks. They are employed by Barnes and Noble. They are not eligible for the free pound of coffee and other benefits. If you work there, you will only get a discount at Barnes and Noble Starbucks (as well as a discount on all of the books and music), but not any other Starbucks. It goes both ways. If you work at a regular Starbucks, you cannot get a discount at the Barnes and Noble store. Its all a matter of preference.
Apply, talk to the manager, and if they don't interview you on the spot call them and follow up on your application after a week. If they still don't interview you, just keep calling and ask the manager politely for an interview. Good luck.
I thought you had to be 18 to work at Starbucks.
