Can I transfer to Gap if I work at Old Navy?

Yes, you can transfer. But:
* you must be 18 to work at the Gap (16 at Old Navy)
* the store you are transferring to has to be hiring and your availability should meet their needs
* the GM at your store now should talk to/email the manager at the Gap store to arrange the transfer, and offer a recommendation for you to work there
* talk to either store's manager about whether or not your pay will stay the same
* have a good reason why you want to switch brands, b/c after all it is the same company, and they will maybe wonder why you don't like Old Navy but you prefer Gap (the store environments are a bit different, but the overall policy/procedure, business aspect of both brands are the same)

It wont make a difference to Gap or Old Navy. It's not like your seniority transfers over from one to the other. But since you have experience, you will have an easier time getting a job.
I would agree with the above answer, except that I would add that Gap and Old Navy are completely different environments. While the policies of Gap Inc are constant, there are differences in quality of merchandise and, in some cases, clientele. Also, a transfer to Gap is considered to be a step up within the company, especially if you transfer into a Power 200 store. I highly recommend a transfer to Gap, since over the next year there will be major changes made to this brand. It will be a great time to be in this division.
