I think the answer above mine says it all,, I haven't been in K Mart in forever, go to wal mart all the time,,

In my humble opinion, Kmart has been able to stop the bleeding. As a result, it has been able to run a stable business that will continue to be frought with competition. The company same-store sales have fallen in the last year by almost 5%, due primarily to a reduction in volume or 'shoppers'.
K-mart suffers from image issues that have caused the typical shopper to regard them as 'cheap'. While the brand offering is similar to other stores like Target and Walmart, these stores have been able to create an image of value for the customer. K-mart was acquired by Sears are trying to leverate synergies across the business models. I would prefer to shop at Walmart/Walmart superstore, because their prices are always the same or falling. If I was target, I would change the name and do a total store refresh and re-etablish an existing target market.
I think the real question is- when was the last time you actually went to a Kmart. There's your answer.
They've improved some, but they still have work to do. I would shop anywhere over Wal Fart. Yes, together they definitely have potential.
Poor Broke, you are correct. Last time I shopped at Kmart was last week. Last time I shopped at Wal Fart was last year. There's your answer.
