One of many lottery frauds. Please consult one of the websites below for more details.
One of the best questions you can ask is, "How can I have won a lottery when I didnt buy a ticket?" The answer is, "you can't" and it's a ruse to try to get money out of you. Once they trick you into sending money, then you cannot sue or prosecute them because they are in a foreign country or untraceable. Throw the email away. The websites below also suggest filters you can add to keep from getting this kind of email in the future.
Yeah so did I ...
It's a scam.
We all got that email... :)
It's got "SCAM" written all over it. Don't fall for it.
Block 'em, it's a scam. It should be legal to kill people who send such things to you, but it isn't. Just ignore them.
Funny, that these things are still out there.
DON"T do any business with these people!!
This IS a scam. There is no such lottery that you can win without actually participating in by your own entry.
My advice to you would be to forward the email to the FBI website. They have people who do nothing but investigate internet scams.
I guess by looking at what you have posted, the first tip that it's a scam would be the fact that they are using a hotmail email address. Easy to get rid of if they are close to being caught.
Hope this helps.
Do you even know anyone from South Africa? Have you entered a contest similar to this before?
The answer is most likely NO and this is definitely spam. Make sure you do NOT respond to this email or they will scam you by asking for personal information or depostis. Eventually they will take some money from you and you will be too deep in the scam to do anything but continue giving them money.
Never ever respond to these emails and put them all in your junkmail box.
I don't know. It could be a scam, they just tried to make it seem original. It is probably a scam. Why would South Africa give 1 million dollars?
This is a scam. I seen a report about these scams out of South Africa.
Regardless of it being you won a lottery in South Africa, England, Australia, all these email lottery wins are scams and not worth your time.
