I'm not sure how it is in your state so I'm not sure how accurate my answer would be..In Ohio, businesses are registered with the Secretary of State. Business filings are searchable on the web site.
Call and ask or check to see if they are listed with the BBB. If so their officers will be listed on the BBB site. (better business bearue)
