Does anyone else work as a customer service rep think the job sucks?

I have been working on the phones in customer service for 5 years. I have always noticed the very rude inconsiderate people, but not as much as when I started working for an insurance company. WOW are those insureds mean and nasty. They are always whining about how they want their quote now, and if they can't having something RIGHT NOW they go and call back to customer service and complain the whole day.

They pay really isnt that bad...hence the reason I still work in customer service. Do any of you work in customer service on the phones and deal with idiots all day? Does anyone work for an insurance company deal with idiots wanting quotes all day?

Answers:
Any customer service job sucks. I think dealing with customers over the phone is a lot better than dealing with them in person, though. At least over the phone you can roll your eyes and make other faces and not have any consequences.
I used to work for the phone company and dealt with that all day long. I stayed with the phone company beause the benefits were great and pay was great. However, they offered a buyout, so I jumped on my easy way out ticket and now I am going to school. I am so much happier now!
Working with customer isn't an easy thing. You have to deal with various type of ppl. Some of them don't have any respect for others. Take some vacation... you need a metal break for those who is short on politeness.
