How do you evaluate a company before starting a new job?
How do you know if you are getting into the "right" company?

Look for the company's website and start from there. If it's a big accounting firm, they'll most likely have one and you can probably learn alot about the company's financials, how many offices they have worldwide, how many employees they have and what their work ethic may be as well. If it's a smaller company, like a private practice, they might have a website that just offers their services and not all the other information. In that case, your best bet would be to scour local newspaper websites to see if there's any mention of the firm in any recent news.
The commute depends on the office you're planning to work at. If it's in another city and moving there is your only alternative, then you'll have to do some more research on where to buy/rent and whether driving or taking public transportation is the best way to get to work. If it's in the city's downtown area, your best bet would probably be to take public transportation unless the company provides employee parking...assuming you own a car. Salary and benefits you'd have to ask the HR person when you're on your interview. Most companies don't publish that information online or give it freely over the phone.
Every company is different and knowing if it's the "right" one for you can only be determined by yourself. Sometimes the responsibilities you're told in the interview is not always what your job really entails. Of course, that means you have to take the job first before you know for sure. But once you've started you should ask yourself...What is important to you and does this company provide it? How comfortable are you in the new environment? Is it too stressful or too relaxed? h Do you get along with your colleagues? How about your boss? Is the workload too heavy? Too light? Not enough responsibilities? Are you happy with the salary? What are the criteria for a raise or a bonus? How many vacation days are you entitled to each year? Do you get a corporate card, etc.

it is a crap shoot, sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, unless you know some who works there.....
I usually wait until my friends get a job somewhere then i go apply. References internally are better I think. And you can always find reviews of companies online im sure.
if u dont know someone who works there or know someone who used to work then its pretty much like winning the lottery...sometimes u pick a winner and sometimes u just have to face the facts.i mean when u go in for an interview ask them if u can tour the facility and take a look around.ask them how many people work there.pretty much thats all u can do is ask questions during your interview..unless u know someone
