Retail shop saving money?
Answers:
Someone needs to fire your managers. If they cant figure out ways to cut costs and asking employees for help, then they are not fit to do the job or run a business.
First of all, it will be very difficult for you as an regular "employee" to give input on how to save the company money. I doubt that you have any idea where money in your retail store really goes. How about figuring out a way to increase "SALES"? That's probably a reason why the company needs to cut on expenses in the first place.
Cutting Cost suggestions from a "MANAGERS" point of view! and not employees.
-Lay off employees who show poor performance.
-Fire the managers and replace them with experienced and qualified personel.
-Get rid of merchandise that does not sell.
-Switch to low cost suppliers and vendors.
-Poor scheduling / Too many employees for the work being performed.
-Too many free services or donations
-Get rid of or cut services that are seldom used.
I can go on and on. I don't believe that this is your place. Without seeing there cash flow it is difficult to determine where to make cuts in a business. Best thing I can suggest from your point of view is for you to figure out ways to motivate, praise, and reward employees for there hard work without having to spend a dime. Good moral in a company is the best thing a company can have during a crisis.
Good Luck to you

Please provide more details... what type of business? I am also in retail and would love to give some imput...
No one could help you with this, not even a professional accountant. The only way a person could help you is to know about the business. To do so could take a lot of time.
There are many ways a company could save money. Reduce the size of the retail space, control unnecessary expenses, cut employee benefits, and reduce the administrative cost, etc.
