I worked there for 7 months and that was probably the most pathetic time of my life. I'm only 17, but whenever people come in to shop, customers, or "guests" as we are forced to call them, would treat us like **. I don't know why people are so rude to people in retail. Cashiers, sales persons, etc. are people too and I am so sick and tired of people calling them idiots or making fun of them. I guarentee you that most retail jobs are a lot harder than most people realize because we have to deal with your shitty attitude that you bring in everyday. But anyways, who ever is thinking about working for Target...don't. They are corrupt, their managers are unexperienced, and the discount is **. I mean come on...10% discount? Wow, that's like no tax...woohoo. Oh yeah, and they hire illegals too. That company claims to be eco-friendly...but we throw away so many bags and food and never recycle. Target is a joke of a company...so yeah, don't work there.

That's how unions got started: to improve poor employment conditions. Before you quit a bad workplace, call up a union and see if they are willing to "organize." Once a union gets in, things change drastically. You will however still have to deal with customers. Unfortunately, that is one thing you cannot get around in the service industry.
