I was told it didn't matter which brand of gas you buy As far as supporting American companys because all the

I was told all the oil in the Atlanta area came out of the same pipeline then didstributed to gas stations all of them. Is this true

Answers:
I don't know this statement is true, and I'm not familiar with the installations in Atlanta. However even if it's true it's not relevant.

Pipelines are able to transport different types of oil (not at the same time of course). So it's possible that different companies can each transport there own brand throw the pipeline and take there own "brand" out at destination. (there are ways to mark the beginning and the end of each type of oil).

But even if all the oil was mixed (then we would have the same system as the electrical grid), it would not be true. There is a tracking system, each company knows how much oil it puts into the system and has to take the same amount of oil out of it. If you buy from an American brand at the pomp, that same American brand had to put the oil in the pipeline, so the non-American brands are not involved.

however, there are other things to consider. We live in a global economy. The American brand might have bought the oil from a non-American supplier. Or the American brand might be owned by a non-American (although I'm not sure this would be allowed).
