When do powergen pay discounts for online billing?

I work for Scottish Power and the way our online discount works is a credit each quarter on the back of your bill. I am supplied by Scottish Power and my online bill shows each quarter an internet discount of 2.38 & another 2.38 for having gas & electric with the same supplier. I also have a discounted unit price for solely managing my account online which will save me approx 183.00 per year. Hope this helps.
I think it is because it saves on paper billing and they are therefore saving money themselves which as an incentive they pass on to you
