Walmart gives credit for previous work records. That could be the reason. When i was hired, I was given about $2.00 and hour more because of my previous work record--I had worked at a single job for 5 years, and they give you credit for that. I think the way they do it now--is they count how many months you worked in the last 5 years. Ask your friend if he got work credit--you can ask management--but they won't tell you anything about your friend--that is a privacy issue.
