Why is UPS management so hard on there employees?

Answers:
In terms of what? Please post more detail and I may be able to focus this more. It is called WORK for a reason. It's not social hour or a place to slack off.

The operations are unionized so those workers are protected. Yes, they have deadlines and quotas to meet so that the packages are delivered on time but I wouldn't consider that being hard on their employees. I have seen a lot of people skate by and just do the minimum, relying on union protection and seniority and I have also seen a lot of very dedicated, hard workers in the company.

The union free offices are a good place to work as well.

Like any job, there are good managers and bad managers. but UPS has an open door policy that actually works if you have a problem with a manager.

The company also offers one of the best benefit packages I have ever seen. I don't know of any other employer that offers part time employees full benefits including tuition reimbursement and health insurance at a very low cost.
