Where can I find corparation papers to print out on the computer, Where I can fill them out and drop them off?

I am trying to form a new coparation and I was told that I could get the paper work off the internet. So I could fill it out myself and take it to city hall.

Answer:
You need to either call the state department or go to their web site and check to see if the papers are available online.
The Department of Corporations in your state (usually at the seat of your state) will be the people you contact regarding your business becoming a corporation. You can fill out the paperwork on the internet, provide them your credit card number and it's done. They will send you proof of your transaction.

I used to work for a Corporate attorney. And it was preferred that you go thru an attorney because if you had any questions, problems, needed him to help you fell out your yearly meeting paperwork, help you sell stock, or back you if you run into something, it was best that you know this attorney. And you would need to know which you are forming, an LLC, partnership, s corporation, sole proprietorship and the benefits of each, tax advantages, etc. and when to use your corporate seal, how to bring a partner on board, what the contract should read like with a partner, and how to close down your corporation in court if things should go south. So I suggest you get a corporate attorney to work for you.

In some states you need also a county business license because you'll have to pay them taxes, or a city license if you work in the city. Here they are called occupational licenses and you need to choose a business name that no one else has.

But you'll also have to tell the Dept of Corps what name you plan to use and if someone else in your state is using it you'll have to choose a new one. But you'll still have to pay them a yearly fee too.

In addition, I'd suggest you go to the white federal pages of your phone book and look under Small Business Administration. They have a short course you need to take. It will tell you what you need to do regarding start up of your company and you can ask your questions there.

It also sounds like you have not done your five year plan which is a requirement if you want your buisness to be still standing at the end of 5 years. I suggest you do this plan "before" you invest in any corporate license.
