Has anyone else ever worked for United American Insurance Company and been wrongfully fired?

I explained to my boss yesterday that I would need time off soon for surgery and today was fired? but because i was a contracted employee I don't have rights?

Answers:
Check with the wage and hour board in your state but because you are an 'as-needed' employee I am thinking he is within his right to terminate you.

Stinks, doesn't it?
