Could I get a CCJ because of a errors of the company itself?

I moved into a newly build house and when I moved I registered for gas and electricty with Southern Gas and Electric. However as the house was on a plot of land which used to have another postcode and now has a new postcode things went wrong and I got a letter from British Gas that I am their customer. I called SGE and they said it was a mix up and was now corrected I just had to raise the matter with BG (house.co.uk) I emailed then now 4 times and never get any reply (I refuse to call them 0845 as I refuse to pay for a phonecall to correct their mistake) if in the future they make a fuss about it could I be registered with a ccj or something like that? I kept all the correspondance as proof but i am so fed up with them i am not wasting any more time on it.

Answer:
British Gas could apply for a CCJ. However you are likely to know what's happening because when the case is filed the court will send the documents to your home address. As long as you can show you do not owe the debt the judge should find in your favour.

My suggestion is to get on the net, look up the name of the Chairman of British Gas and send him a stroppy letter with copies of the evidence attached. Send it recorded delivery. Two things could happen;

1. They resolve the problem and write back aplogising.
2. They ignore you. In which case you will be able to make them look very stupid if they try to take it any further.
yes, sorry to say so but it sounds like you could be, might be better to spend yet more time and try to clear this up properly
Dont be so stubborn.ring the number if you are concerned.
No, as you have to go to court to get a CCJ (County Court Judgement). They will have to Judge it in your favour as it is a mistake on the company's part.

You can also appeal to Experian about any incorrect information that they have about you file.

But I would try to resolve it as soon as possible if you can.
Good question!!
