Depends on your size. Since you don't have one, I assume you are small. Start with Peachtree.
go for simply books they are very good and low priced.

sage is for large companies but support can vary and cost more accordingly.
The truth is I've used , ATX, JD Edwards, QuickBooks,Burroughs 2000, DacEasy, Peach Tree and found that the ATX which is now a CCH company is simple, affordable, and complete. They have a product called "CASH COMMAND" for non accountants.
