Government Contracts?

Is there a such thing like if a Government entity has some contract projects, it has to give certain percentage of those to minority owned companies or some section 8 compliant companies? If yes, how can a company be section 8 compliant?
Any information regarding this will be helpful.

Thanks in advance.

The best thing you should do is invest in a book called
"Getting Started in Federal Contracting" A beginners guide ..it is available online and costs around $40. it has all the information you need. Don't pay money to a business that says they will show you how to do it and give you a list of what you can bid for. You can find all the info and forms yourself directly from the Government.. The gov will have a list of what contracts they are tendering bids for. It's not as easy as it sounds and not always as profitable either. The book will explain all that. Also the government often requires you to pay a fee to submit a bid.
