Is Kroger or Publix cheaper/better??
Is Kroger REALLY cheaper than Publix? My parents disagree with me, probably because they hate everything about Kroger, including their customer service and the asthetics and cleanliness of the store. Kroger's bakery/deli is not as good as Publix's (I'll have to agree on this one). And Kroger brand foods are pretty nasty, compared to Publix brand. My parents also say Kroger's "10 for 10" is just a way to make you buy more crap and make you spend more than you actually intended.
Aside from that, the food items that are NOT store brand, (only name brand foods), are they cheaper at Kroger?? or at Publix?

Funny that you asked. I just went to Kroger which isn't my favorite for a few items. The first two items I looked for weren't in stock so I went to Publix a block away, found all the stuff I needed plus more.
If you're a coupon clipper Kroger is probably cheaper but not by much. When Publix has half price items I need I stock up. I also prefer their seafood, fresh produce and store brands over Kroger. Plus Publix cleanliness, customer service and specialty items counts for something.
If I'm running out of several basic items I'll pick them up for less at Wal*Mart if they have them in stock which they often don't. I stay away from their meats and fresh produce though.
