Why Singaporean bosses are so demanding yet not willing to pay up to market salary?
Answer:
Sadly, that's not just happening in Singapore, but is world wide. Whenever you choose to work for someone else, you are essentially working to make them rich. The only way to change that is to work for yourself. Then you are getting paid in direct proportion to your efforts and you never have to deal with a demanding boss, unless of course, you put high demands on yourself. I have a home business in the health and wellness industry that is doing very well in Singapore.
Sorry I am an Indian.
Evidently because you're willing to put up with it rather than look for another job.
Because there are no independent unions to act for workers. So bosses have their way. Instead of working smart, just make the workers work more!
Think you need to accept the fact, Singapore now is Employer's Market, it's not like 10 years ago, where employee will choose employer. The Government keep saying that the economic is growing, more people is employed, but the actual fact is more Singaporeans today have do two man jobs, and getting less than one man salary.
This situation is not unique to Singaporean bosses, it happens in workplaces worldwide.
As an individual, you have to master the skills of working SMART to survive in this dog-eat-dog society.
