Do you have to be in law school to get a legal (clerk/assistant/secretar. position?
Answer:
Do you know any lawyers you could talk to? A lot of firms hire college students, etc., to do work around the office and run stuff to the courthouse. It doesn't pay much though, and it's boring, so if I were you I would do something interesting or something that pays better. Most of those jobs on craigslist are for people with experience. If you don't want to go to law school, but still want to work in the legal field, paralegals and legal sec's make excellent salaries and are in high demand. The certificate program sounds like a good start if that is your choice, but if you plan to be a lawyer I don't think it's worth it.
No. You don't. You can get a degree in paralegal studies though. It's a MUST to break into the field.
