I' ve interviewed a lot of people over the years.Most applicants don't listen to the questions from the viewpoint of the interviewer. You must ask your self "why am I being asked this question?" Then pause and think about your answer and give a complete but well thought out answer that is concise. Many people blab about things that should be left unmentioned in their answers. Like you shouldn't talk about personal things like your boyfriend or girlfriend and that you live together without benefit of marriage. That makes a bad impression. Find ways to tell the interviewer how you will be of benefit to the company. Show how you can do things that will be of value to the company. Be sure to write a nice handwritten thank you note immediately and leavve it with the receptionist or mail it immediately after you leave. Never leave your cell phone on when you go to an interview. Take only a nice leather notebook fto hold your resuemand a decent pen and for women, unclutter your appearance by leaving your purse in the trunk of your car. (Don't arrive at your destination and then put it in your car as you may have a break in if someone sees you put it in there.)Both sexes need to dress neatly with conservative clothing. Dress one step up from the type of clothing you would wear on the job. Have hair,nails, and clothing, and shoes clean and neat. Eliminate facial hair if you are a man. Be sure to SMILE and have a firm handshake. There are a lot of books and classes out there about how to crack the interview and a million more tips. 3. Ask informed questions.
4.Bring supporting materials like resumes, testimonials, references, samples of your work etc.
5. Ask them what they think of you at the end and always push for " what are the next steps, I really enjoyed our conversation and would like to continue thru the process."
