Applying at places that typical hire teens such as Wal-Mart, Target, coffee shops, etc., would be helpful. Also, after turning in your application, wait a couple of days and call them back. Most places want to know you're really interested in the job, and that's how you let them know that.
Depending upon how old you are there could be limitiations as to where you are allowed to work.
I would suggest you first look into your state or provincal labour laws and find out just what type of work your age bracket it allowed to engage in.
After you do your research I'd suggest looking for something is similar to one of your tallents. I have a younger cousin who is now going to become a hair dresser and she has spent the past 3 summers working as a assistant of some type as well as taking part in varrious courses at her high school. She has a tallent for it. I know of another young lady, the daughter of a good friend of mine who started to work at a flower shop. She makes some of the best arrangemtns I've ever seen.
Don't settle for something mundain, look at what you are good at and then try and find a vocation that will use some of your attriubutes.
