References for resumes?

i have no references for my resume besides my like two friends who i doubt they use, is it okay to lye about references and fake them, because i basically quit my old jobs or get fired leaving me on bad terms with my bosses, i very doubt they have anything nice to say about me,
how do u get good references from people..
im 20 so its not that bad that i have no references ,right?..

Answer:
Your past employers only can really say you have worked there. They are not even allowed to state what your salary is. I would not lie and make up fake references. I would put on my resume references upon request. You can also have references from other people in your life such as a teacher or pastor. I would not sweat it people change jobs all the time now.
I damn near had the same problem. don't lie or put fake references because some employers will contact your references (that's what they are for). my job sent surveys to mine! . but ya, just go back to your school and talk to some of your favorite teachers or get to know your neighbors. you have to talk to people in this world (I know it sucks) but you have to network in order to really be successful.
Don't put references on your resume anyway. put references available upon request.

No, don't give them the names of friends. . but do you have any responsible citizen who would give you a good reference, like a teacher or a leader in your church? Have you done any volunteer work, that you could get a reference someone from there?

It's not the worst thing that you have references, and the people you are interviewing with know that you are young and have made some mistakes. I assume, however, those are the jobs that you put on your resume. The best thing to do may be to explain (if they ask!) that you didn't leave on good terms. I would be prepared with a good song and dance as to why you are different now. You can alternatively call your old employers and ask if they would give you a reference (maybe their not as mad as you think - and sometimes all they are allowed to say - by law - is that you worked there and the dates of employment).

K now the lecture:
Don't lie on your resume. Don't make the same mistakes at the new job as you did at the last one. Go in with the goal (when you are hired) of having a good reference/job history for your job after that.
First of all.you get good references by leaving on good terms.even if you are fired. I've been fired a couple of times but always try to leave in as nice a way as possible. Sometimes I even thank my boss for how much I learned from them.even if in reality all I learned was that they are an iditot.

Now, how to solve your problem.

Solution 1. Find out what your old companies policy was on references. Some have a policy against giving any kind of reference and will only verify whether you worked there are not. You can call HR for this info if it is a big company.

Solution 2. Call your old bosses and ask if you can put them down as a reference. If you feel you made mistakes at your old job then tell your old boss that you've learned from your mistakes. Ask if they would feel comfortable giving you at least a neutral reference for you.

Solution 3. Since you're only 20 maybe an old teacher could be one of your references.

Solution 4. Do a bit of community service on the side and have the manager of the community service organization give you a good reference. They should be very greatful for your help and in return should say positive things about you.

Solution 5. Get a friend to lie for you. Get a phone number from one of the phone companies along with voicemail. In the voicemail message have your friend identify himself/herself as being from the company that is listed on your resume. The person who is doing the check on you will likely leave a message and then your friend can call back and give a glowing reference.
Never fabricate anything on your resume. including references.
