Has anyone ever tried to work while on Social Security disability?

Did they stop your benefits? What happened? I read the rules already, but I am curious.

Answer:
There are various programs for working while on disability. You need to get the most recent Red Book from Social Security. People who work while they are disabled are on SSDI. Social Security Disability Income/Insurance. Certain activities can stop your benefits. Call up Social Security and set up an appointment. It's a maze, but he system does work.
You should never try it.
i friend gets disability check.and if he works they will take alot off of your check and if you don't tell them your working and if they found out they will get you for fraud. so if you can work just go work and don't get disability. good luck
you can work but you have to report it. if you make so much money they start taking out money from your ssi. you have to ask social security how much money you can make before they start taking money out.
they will catch you , stop benefits an sue you to get back anything they paid you already. so dont do it. you can work under the table jobs. like baby sitting, where no one turns in any records on you, but if they are declaring anything on their taxes that you have to sign off on, then they will still catch you so only casual baby sitting or something that no one really watches , like flea market booths and so on will work, if anyone takes income taxes and ssi taxes out of you it will get caught.
Yes , I worked as a disability services manager for 10 years and it worked out quite well. I am now back on disability and much better off having paid into the system for the last 10 years. Iam a home owner, and have years of new experience to draw from,
