A trainee cook being rude to the chef, can the trainee terminate?

Its not good for any employee to be rude on its work place. It the trainee is under probation than you can take action against him and can temrinate without giving him any notice. Term Trainee appears its self that the person who is hired as trainee is on probation or temporary nature, after completing training he has to go some else where for finding a job but you can terminate trainee's services on his or her rude behavior to the seniors. Such emplyees may be harmful for the organization in the future as permanent employees. Take care

Being rude is a choice.

Definitely have a constructive and productive performance evaulation with the trainee immediately. This isn't baseball, no strikes.

Notify him he is there as a trainee and has the option to leave. No more rudeness or he's gone.

And justifiying why he's rude is just immature.
