Im planning on mving to San Francisco in about a year and I was wondering how soon should I start looking?

for a job? I dont want to get there and not have a job. I was thinking 6 months before I move. Is that enough time to find a job? Im a college student looking for a job in the hospitaltiy/tourism industry.

You should start looking now. It is not too soon, and if you can schedule a visit, you could surely line up an interview. Since you will move in about a year, you will be there in time for the summer rush... something they will want to think about. You won't be promised a job now, but you will have made valuable contacts.

Also, this will give you an opportunity to learn about the salary range for your occupation. SF is a very expensive city, so you will want to figure out where you can afford to live and whether you will target jobs near BART or bus lines. Or, it may just pay for you to to go across the bay for work... Good luck!
